Rain in Potsdamn

When I first realized we might get rain while on this trip I was a little bummed. I knew I wouldn't be able to get the same quality of pictures if it rained and the general difficulty that rain adds caused me worry.

So far we have had rain both days. Yesterday it didn't rain very hard or very long. Today we went to Potsdamn to see the palace of Frederich the great of Prussia. He was very much influenced by Italian architecture, so I liked it. The funny thing is he had never traveled to Italy. When he was 18 he tried to run away. He was caught, and kept from leaving after that.

Just as we were about to leave the rain really picked up. It started pouring. We had an opportunity to go around to the back of the palace to see the gardens. Despite the rain I decided to go. As I went I was surprised by the joy I found in the experience. Instead of hampering my time, it really added to it! Perhaps the energy of traveling with kids has had a positive influence on me.
